Linked Scripts
Orbital allows you links scripts to queries. Linked scripts can be connected to one or more existing queries, as long as the existing queries return non-empty results. The linked script will only act on those devices that meet the existing query criteria.
Scripts can only be linked to an existing query. They cannot be linked to another script or to existing scripts. The Link query command will be listed in action menus on the Results page. It will not be listed in the action menus for existing scripts.
A linked script is a results-based device selector. The overview concept is similar to multilevel Boolean searches, where the previous search is used for more detailed results. It can also be viewed as a type of filter.
Linked scripts do not perform any actions on the actual data returned from the query's criteria match.
Linked scripts will only supply the list of devices that meet the query's criteria with its script to run.
