Connect Scripts to Linked Queries

Linked queries use the list of devices returned from one query in another query. Scripts can be linked in the same way.

Linked queries can be used with queries in the Orbital Catalog or existing custom queries. To use linked queries, you must select more than one query.

You can link the queries feature from the Investigate and Results pages.

To link queries from the Investigate page:

  1. Open Investigate page.

  2. Click Link queries icon () under the Devices field.

The Link queries drop-down list displays the last 50 existing queries. If you want to select queries not listed, use the Results page instead.

  3. Navigate to an existing query and select it by clicking the check box.

You can select more than one existing query by clicking multiple check boxes.

  4. Click Add. This will populate the Devices field with all of the devices used by the query that you linked to.

  5. Once you have identified the query you want to run your query against, you can either write your own queries in the Custom script field or select a built-in query from the Catalog query.

To access linked queries from the Results page:

  1. Open the Results page.

  2. Scroll to the desired existing query.

  3. Click the three-dot menu icon ().

  4. Select Link query from the action menu. This will populate the Devices field with the name of the chosen existing query.

  5. Once you have identified the existing query or queries you want to run your query against, you can either write your own queries in the Custom script field or select a built-in query from the Catalog.
